Atmospheric monitoring station starts field tests in Vienna and Linz

Partnerships with well-known institutions
Rhea is an atmospheric monitoring and control system that is put into orbit by three renowned partners. The first installation of the station is planned in the Aerosol Alley of the tobacco factory in Linz, where it will monitor the development of the air values of the new green zone on the site. Further devices will transmit data from the TrIIIple Towers of Soravia Group and CAPE 10, the House of Social Innovation, in Vienna.
ATMOS concentrates significance of the air data
“With the air quality measuring station ‘RHEA’ the holistic approach of ATMOS is further clarified”, explains Chris Müller, founder and CEO of ATMOS Aerosol Research GmbH. “In addition to satellite data, with which ATMOS can also make retroactive statements about air conditions worldwide, we are now equipping the ground stations with high-tech products. Thus ATMOS does not have to rely on the measuring stations and data of third parties – as other suppliers do – but creates its own precise and reliable image”.
All data is condensed in a pool and can be used to take specific measures. Be it as a step towards more sustainability in the field of real estate, tourism or smart city or as a health aspect and real-time tool directly on people.

High-precision monitoring system
RHEA grounds the data from ATMOS and makes the health-promoting – and harmful particles and a variety of other essential data in the immediate vicinity visible. High-precision and reliable sensors detect different pollutants and components of air quality. The measuring station can also detect different fine dust particles and distinguish between PM 10, PM 2.5 and PM 1. The data are automatically transferred to the ATMOS database and stored. The data can be evaluated and visualized, depending on the requirement profile. The following components are determined:

For years ATMOS has been emphasizing the great importance of air quality for human health and for achieving ambitious climate targets. “Only if the air conditions can be precisely located, it is possible to change something lastingly with targeted measures”, emphasizes Chris Müller. “Therefore further ATMOS products and applications are in the pipeline, which help to get a holistic and accurate picture”.
